H264 WebCam

This is where H264 WebCam comes in. This application is a 16-channel h264 remote video surveillance program that will work on all versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. This includes the old XP, Windows Vista, and the latest iteration, Windows 7. All you have to do is download and install the application – speaking of which, the download weighs in at little over 4MB, so it should complete in no time at all. It will download in a blink even if you’re on a lousy internet connection.

Once downloaded and installed, H264 WebCam will capture images from directly connected cameras, both USB and analog, TV boards, capture cards, network IP cameras, and so on. The software application will capture images at 30 fps (frames per second). Furthermore, it can take the images and audio it captures and send them over the internet to a specific location – which is great if you want to create a webpage for your surveillance system.

The interface of H264 WebCam initially features 4 sample webcams, having the possibility to add up to 16 cameras that can stream video simultaneously. Every webcam can be thoroughly configured. As such, the user can change the camera IP address, port, username and password and can select the type of camera, to be better recognized by the software. H264 WebCam can use either local cameras or web cameras. For cameras that support this function, there are some tilt, pan and zoom options in the program. Besides that, video stream from any camera can be recorded and saved as a video file. The codec and quality settings can be chosen in this case.
